Vonage Well, I took the plung and bought a Linksys PAP2-bn at Sam's Club. Connected a Linksys

Well, I took the plung and bought a Linksys PAP2-bn at Sam's Club. Connected a Linksys BEFW11s4 router to a Comcast cable modem... then the PAP2 to one of the 4 ports. I powered up the cable modem waited a few mins. then pwr'd the router... pwr'd up a PC I had connected on port 2 of the router and surfed to www.vonage.com/activate .... there you will enter the MAC of your PAP2 and sign-up for service with a Credit Card....I am checking to see how I get my $40.00 of usage credit.... anyway - while I was registering the PAP2 was updating and it took less than the 5mins ~3mins I would say.... all went extremely well!! Before I went into the router to setup the port forwarding outlined in the guide that came with the PAP2 ...I made a local call... to my cell phone..... IT WORKED!!! Then I used my cell phone to call the number that showed up in caller ID of my cell..... IT WORKED!!! I have since signed on to the account at Vonage.com to see how to setup the voicemail that come with the $24.whatever account!!! SO FAR (+6HRS) ALL IS WORKING WELL AND SOUNDs GREAT!!! I do feel lucky!! There is a lot that could have and may go wrong.... When Comcast starts selling phone service in our area - I am expecting trouble....but then again - since Vonage has complained to the FCC early ...maybe not :wink:
