Well, I'm 19 years old and I have a long distance boyfriend living in Canada, so it's expensive for my cell phone to call him, even if it's just to ask him to call me. Not only that, but during the day it eats up minutes up until 7PM, and we usually get on the phone an hour or two before that time. So last month my cell phone bill was $415. The month before, $211. Before that, $232, and before that, $388. I'm paying too much money. I recently got laid off from my job and need to desperately save money, so Vonage seemed to be the way to go because it won't cost anything to call Canada and I can do it all day. Here's the issue. I don't know what kind of... equipment I need to buy. I live with my parents, and my modem is in the other room. I have wireless, because I have a laptop. What I want to do is have the whatever it is that needs to be hooked up to my wireless router thing in that room but have both phones in my room. There's no phone jack in that room. Is there anything that I can do? I thought I knew what to buy while on the website here, but it said something along the lines of like $90 to buy a modem hook up and a phone. Is that true? It said something about an instant rebate but I wanted to know if they were going to charge me the $90 and then I have to send something in to get my rebate. Any help would be appreciated. I'd call Vonage itself, but from reading on here, apparently their customer service may be kind of bad. Thanks in advance.
