Well...I just did a search at vonage.com and neither "Epygi" nor "Quadro" was found. So if they are supporting it, they're not talking about it.

I like the concept of this system, but after searching the web for info, I did not find much detailed information. Everything that I found looked like a cut/paste from the Epygi website. And they don't talk about things in a way that is meaningful to me, either as a user of the system, or as an installer.

For example, is the built-in router UPnP compatible? If not, that alone would make it almost useless to most of my clients. Perhaps it can be used with a separate router...that was not clear to me.

I also could not find any mention of intercom or paging features. There would also be the issue of feature phones. I get the impression that one just plugs in POTS phones. That appeals to me on the one hand because it might let me easily do some things that don't work very well with a conventional digital phone system, but on the other hand, simple one-button line selection, intercom and paging would be lost, as would status lights for line and extension activity. I am not clear how internal or external voicemail would be handled either.

And then there would be the issue that customers who currently have digital phone systems would need to replace all of their existing proprietary digital phones with something else. For an office like ours, it looks like it would be $5000 or more for the hardware alone. That assumes that I would be able to figure out how to install it and make it do what I need it to do. If I have to pay someone to do that work, I am guess that would cost extra.

Maybe it doesn't cost extra, because every price I saw on the net looked identical. That makes me think that there is some kind of MAP policy or other control of the pricing, so maybe the manufacturer is assuming that the purchase price will include support. I don't know.

And then finally, if we get past all of the above issues, I have to take a step back and ask myself if I want to commit this kind of investment to a company like Vonage. I mean, I really like the concept, and I am using it now, but their customer support is completely irresponsible.

For example, I was following a thread on their official forum where a customer was looking for a solution to an audio level problem. A Vonage representative posted a rather short reply that seemed like it might solve the problem in question. When another forum member posted a follow-up question, the Vonage rep did not reply. There were some more posts, looking for an answer, and at some point, a member simply posted "bump", presumably hoping that the rep would respond. Which he did, but in the process, he took the opportunity to make an insulting remark about how he didn't have time to "cuddle and baby" the forum members.

My only thought was that if he doesn't have time to do his job, Vonage has a management problem. And if Vonage permits their employees to insult customers on their forum, that is just ridiculous.

Okay, so now I'm off topic. Sorry about that.

Small Business Phone Systems????

I want a small business phone system that will work with four vonage lines? Does
I can build you one... Would Vonage be your only phone service or would you also
For now it would be one Vonage line and three land lines. However, in the not to distant
IF your going to using mainly land lines then maybe a Talk Switch system would be
Greg - I've installed my first Vonage phone line as a test to see if it will also work
What you might need to consider is whether your DSL line will be able to support
Vonage does not officially support this, but I can tell you from personal experience
I thnk we need a moderator in here.
Greg, This is exactly what I would like to do. I would like to have 3 (or 4) Vonage
any phone system will work with your vonage lines. like a previous poster said,
