Vonage Reviews

Vonage Week of 7/3 I tried three times to sign up over the Internet with my Discover card.

Week of 7/3
I tried three times to sign up over the Internet with my Discover card. Neither times did it work.

7/13 - 45 minutes on the phone with Vonage support
After I bought a router from buy.com and received it in the mail, I was still unable to sign up for the service using three different types of credit cards.
After 45 minutes on the phone, the CSR was able to get a technician to enter in my credit card number manually. It finally worked. The phone and Internet seemed to work okay at that point.

7/15
The phone stopped working. I tried emailing support, since the CSR's only knew how to reboot the device. I got an email back that explained how to upgrade the firmware. It didn't work.

7/16 - 10 minutes on the phone with Vonage support.
I called Voice Support. After a reboot, the firmware started to download. The phone started to work okay, but the Internet wasn't working. I said that I'd call back if it still didn't work after the upgrade had finished.

7/16 - 58 minutes on the phone with Vonage support
Internet worked, after I disabled Proxy Filtering, Cookie Filtering and ActiveX Filtering. With the Vonage service, my phone dials my cell phone okay, but doesn't work when I call my work phone. After going through 5 levels of menus, I talk to a t1 tech that says I need to talk to a t2 tech. 18 minute hold for t2.

T2 tech has me reboot so she can run a test. Not sure if the test came up with anything, but I still can't dial my work number. She was able to confirm that I can receive calls. Phone2 port does the same thing when calling work. So far, the other numbers I've tried (limited) work fine. Seems like a switching problem at Vonage. T2 tech tried to dial my work number and she was able to connect.

So far, I still can't dial these 858 numbers from my Vonage line.
523-xxxx doesn't work (pause and click)
689-xxxx doesn't work (pause and click)
484-xxxx doesn't work and comes back with the three tones.
780-xxxx doesn't work (pause and click)

949-365-xxxx works
866-243-4357 works
229-xxxx works

T2 tech is going to forward to a database group to see if there are any known issues. I should get a response via email in a few hours.

Right now, Phone 1 doesn't work at all.

I just got a voicemail from a tech in response to the ticket I opened. She said to make sure my phone is plugged into the router, not the wall.

Is it time to give up?

This may sound crazy, but I assume that your phone is not the actual problem? Is
Nope, its a wired phone. I still have service from my current provider and it works
