Vonage We received a new router day before yesterday to replace one that was failing.



We received a new router day before yesterday to replace one that was failing. Other than having to reboot the router several times a day, our service was fine for the last year and a half.

I do not have any other routers hooked up in front of the RTP300. I use Roadrunner as my ISP.

I followed the simple instructions that came with the new router. Once it was hooked up I had phone service but could not access the internet. I contacted Tech Support, who then told me to contact my ISP to register the MAC number. I contacted my ISP and we did some diagnostics, but were not able to get through. The Tech at my ISP gave me the number for Tech Support at Linksys. I spent several hours on the phone with them and we finally were able to access the internet.

The issue then comes when we try to use our e-mail. We use Outlook as our e-mail program. We can open Outlook and retrieve our e-mail, but we can not send it out. We keep getting a timed out error. The same is true if we try to login to a website like Netflix or our bank. We enter our user info, but we time out without allowing us to access the site. While we can access the internet, we eventually lock up and time out trying to access pages.

I unhooked the router and plugged the modem directly to the computer. This e-mail issue and logging in issues disappear. When I put the router back into the loop, then I lose my ability to send e-mail. I contacted my ISP and they said they don't see any issues at their end. I contacted Linksys and spent a couple more hours on the phone with them, but we were unable to resolve the issue. I contacted Vonage Tech Support and was told that it must be my PC. Does anyone have any other thoughts on this?
