Your idea of eliminating the house wiring by disconnecting all but the cordless phone has merit and would be a shortcut to eliminating the problem but there is a problem with that. Since porting the Qwest number over SWMBO is now directly involved. She is not particularly understanding when it comes to "her" phones not working. :) Really, there should not be anything basically wrong with the house phones or the wiring as they have been working fine for the last 11 years! I suspect that Quest is more liberal to get along with then Vonage. I remember that when I first subscribed to Vonage 14 months ago I had problems making a spare phone I had to work with Vonage but it worked fine on the copper line. I will continue to take my time troubleshooting this and if worse comes to worse investing in a 4 phone cordless set.

I do appreciate your thoughts though.
