Vonage Unfortunately, my cell gets horrible reception at home so I can't call vonage
Unfortunately, my cell gets horrible reception at home so I can't call Vonage to try and solve the problem. :( The phone problem didn't happen until 5 days after we had the digital cable upgrade, that is why I didn't think it was the cause but yet, its the only thing that is different.
Here is what they told me to do after I got the "Settings are failed!" message:

Thank you for contacting Customer Care. In regards with the issue that
you sent us, as you got "Settings Failed" we suspect a firmware failure
which could be corrected by a reset procedure. So, kindly do the
following "3 TIMES":
Press down the reset button which can be found on the rear end on the
router for 45 seconds when the power is "ON_. After 45 seconds release
the reset button and wait till you get a solid green light on the
power. After that, unplug the power cable from the router. Wait for 20
seconds before you plug it back in. Then wait till the power light glow
solid.
After the above has been done 3 times please do the following:
1. Power off router, modem and computer.
2. Now plug power the cable back to the modem. Wait for 2 minutes till
it boots up.
3. Now, plug the power cable back to the RT31P2 router. Wait for 2
minutes till it boots up.
4. Now connect the computers to the router as it was connected before.
Power up the computer. Your Internet connection should work fine.
5. If you are able to go online, connect a telephone to the "PHONE 1"
port(MANDATORY) of the RT31P2 router using a standard phone line.
6. Wait at least five minutes for the RT31P2 router There may be
updates that need to be downloaded such as new firmware or changes to
the features. Please do not interrupt the configuration process by
unplugging
the power or lifting the receiver on your phone during the startup
process. Interruption of the startup may result in interruption of
service.
7. Pick up your telephone receiver and listen for a dial tone. If you
hear a dial tone, you have finished the installation and can begin
making calls.
If you face any trouble in between, please do reply to us with the
status of lights you see on the front panel of the device.

Nothing changed after I did all this and this was the last message I received from customer service. I guess they gave up :(

• They don't do well with Email. Have you tried the test at testyourvoip.com? You
