To get right to the point (and sorry if this is posted incorrectly but I don't know some of what the following information means so I didn't know what forum to list it under.)
Every time I reboot my computer, I have to do two things in order to establish internet connection: First, after diagnosing and repairing, I have to renew my IP address. Then I have to reset my LAN. These both can be done by pressing buttons, ie, I don't have to actually pull out cords, wait 30 secs, etc. Here is the information that I believe it requested for each post, along with some other probably superfluous stuff:

Hardware setup: Charter cable goes through an RCA minidrop amplifier then to modem supplied by Charter, then blue cord goes from the enet port to the blue colored internet port of my Vonage router, then the yellow cord comes out of Port 4 of the yellow colored port of that router and connects to my computer.
