This is apples and oranges but I think a comparrison is justified. Let's take cable tv. There are all kinds of cable tv systems out there some of them still in use since 1970. Now you want to make a DVR that will work with all cable systems. That's got to be a task.

TiVo was able to do it and so have some other companies. It takes the right technology, software apps etc.

That's kind of the boat I see Vonage in. It will take some doing but it should get done.

As to whether or not there are still areas in the U.S. without E911 I wouldn't know.
