The reason I called it a trap is that there were three different rebates, two that you could NOT send in for over a month, and the other that you HAD TO send in before the month.

I remember now that I did read all forms up front. I was ready at that time to send everything in. I saw that two of the forms could not be sent in until a month later, I also noted that there was a money back guarantee if I returned it to the store within something like 30 days. I am fairly certain that I could not do that if I cut off the required documentation for the rebate.

I then decided to give it a little time.

The next time I looked at the forms, I only looked at one of them, and noticed again that I had to wait for the first statement. Having forgotten that one form had to be earlier, I only saw that I had to wait until I had my monthly statement.

I agree, it's my fault. But first, there's the trap that all the forms cannot be sent in at once... along with the fact that the money back guarantee conflicts with the rebate. And finally, there's pissing off customers... in this case, customers who have a continuous relationship, rather than a one-time purchase.

As far as that customer "service" rep, I was trying to explain the situation; she simply told me that if I had missed the deadline, there was nothing that could be done. I then found myself explaining to a dead line.
