I am sorry to inform you that currently we do not have the option to customize the "Press the Pound key" message. This is a default message. I do understand that including this option would be beneficial to you and many of our customers.
I have forwarded this request to our development team and also have explained the value that customers gain from it. This feature request will soon be introduced along with our existing features in future. However, I am afraid that I will not be able to provide you the exact time frame of when it will be included. Please visit our website often for regular updates.

So, plenty of blether telling me what a marvellous service I'm receiving, nothing but weasel words as far as the actual issue is concerned. Poor.
FWIW, I've addressed this in my own case by sticking SimulRing on the Vonage line and then having it forward to another line that has messages I can customise.
This is exactly the sort of bollocks I pay to avoid by having separate lines, but currently having some odd voice banging on about the "pound" key isn't acceptable.

• As near as I can tell, Vonage have been promising that customisation / removal
• I agree!
• You COULD dispense with Vonage voice mail, and use a simple answering machine
• If this is the only problem you have the service i think you are nit picking a bit.
• Vonage is currently undergoing a migration to an upgraded Voicemail platform
• So I spoke with the director of our Voicemail group and the UK language customization
