The coax port on your Actiontec gateway/router is used if you have FIOS cable TV. It feeds the coaxial cable network feeding the set-top boxes and provides their VOD (video on demand - where you can pause, rewind, stop, etc.) and also updates the Program Guide on the cable boxes. In addition, it supplies each set-top box with an IP address - lots of back and forth for this setup. :handshake: Any computer stuff should be plugged into the Ethernet ports or go wireless as desired. Your Vonage device plugs into one of the Ethernet ports (RJ-45 jack, cat 5e or cat 6 cable). :)
