The M1000 modem/router would be the same as my Cable modem . . .in that it is the termination for your DSL wiring (MTA), and runs a DHCP to your computer or network.
M1000 modem/router 192.168.1.1 - - >Vonage (Wan by DHCP 192.168.1.2. LAN to Linux (192.168.15.1, DHCP starts 192.168.15.2) - - > PC Firewall (WAN 192.168.15.2 DHCP =? - -PC's (?)
If I have this shown correctly, I think the problem MAY be that the PC's are looking at the Firewall PC as the Gateway and DNS, which will fail. That is why I set up the static ip address on my router and set the DNS and Gateway address in BOTH the WAN side and The DHCP (LAN) side. You MAY be able to get away with just setting the DNS on the firewall PC on your DHCP LAN side:
DNS 1 192.168.15.1
DNS 2 208.67.222.222
DNS 3 208.67.220.220
Upon further reflection the only reason I had the static address on my router was for port forwarding . . . if it lost power or was reset the lease reserverd 192.185.15.2 and it was then assigned 192.168.15.3 which screwed up port forwarding from the Vonage device (set to port forward to 192.168.15.2)
