That's the way it works, but your NAME will not be sent along with the number. So people should be seeing your Vonage number on the CID, but the name will either be "Vonage holdings" or blank, or some other value.

In most apartments I've been in, there is a jack that can be unplugged that isolates the apartment wiring from the apartment building itself. It's usually located in a closet or other out-of-the-way place. If you can find this, just unplug it and re-test the line in the apartment. Don't forget to plug it back in when you move out!

The wireless phone jacks work OK, but for the cost of a couple of them, you might be better off simply replacing your entire system with a single base that can support multiple remote handsets. The wireless jacks I've seen cost $50-75 each, and for about $100-125 you can get a nice, integrated phone system with 3-4 handsets. If you're looking at making two of your cordless bases remote, it's probably going to be cheaper to replace all of them with one centralized system. Then you have an integrated system that can probably share address book/speed dial around, operates on a single frequency with no chance of interference with each other, and only requires one phone jack.

Personally, I'm using the $125 (approx price when I bought it a few months ago) VTech mi6897, which has a speakerphone base with the charging cradle for one of the three handsets, and two remote handsets with their own cradles. I can add one more handset to the system if I want to. Or I could probably buy a new charging cradle for the handset on the base if I wanted to turn that into a remote one, but I use the base more often than I use any of the handsets, so having the one handset right there is handy for me.

Not at all, even if you end up with a Vonage router, nothing says you need to USE it as a router. Plug the WAN/Internet port from the Vonage adapter you get into any of the LAN ports on the Actiontac, plug a phone into the PHONE1 port of the Vonage adapter, and off you go.

BTW - what about internet connection speed? I think I'm fast enough, my Speakeasy
Speed is not really all that relevant to Vonage - you only need 90kbps at the highest
Another question - I moved to Maryland 3 months ago, most of my family is back
No, it's a router that has a phone port in the back of it. Since you already have a

It doesn't get much better than that.
