Thanks for the input. My cable does run probably right around 100m to my home, but I did a ping test to the ISP and everything seems fine. What I did notice is that when I ran Broadband DSL reports it stated that I only had 73 download speed and 31 upload. And this after I upgraded my package to ensure I have a committed 128 Kbps line. I have
really had one heck of a time with these Indian ISP companies. Supposedly 73 Kbps is broadband over here. In addition what they do over here is put a cap on the amount of data you can download in a month. Generally they start at 500 MB and go up and everytime the prices doubles. My package is currently 1GB. When you exceed that they charge you. And I am assuming that they falsify the data, so that you always exceed the limit. Just an observation based on the way Indian companies work. I am assuming that most users would not track how much data they have downloaded. To get a leased line of 512 Kbps from one of the larger companies would cost me about $1000 a month, and 1Mbps would be about $2000.

Enough on my rant about India. I wanted to post the results from the check I ran on testyourvoip.com, and I was hoping that some of the experts could help me to troubleshoot my problem.

From San Diego TO here seems fine. Which matches when I call I can hear the person very clearly. But from here TO San Diego, it looks as though I am losing half the data. Which I am assuming is why no one can hear me. (BTW called my mom tonight and she could hear me, but not very well. And not all time. In addition she said it sounded like I was in a tunnel.)

Few Questions:

1. I read that the data loss could be from firewalls being enabled on the PC or by the ISP. Is this correct, and is this why I am losing so much data? I disabled my firewall and I had similar results to the above.

2. Could the low bandwidth be the cause of my experiencing the white noise. As stated earlier I have tried to troubleshot by plugging in a second line, and also I fixed up a crimped RJ11 phone plug. Neither worked and it made the white noise worse.

3. If all else fails and I do have to buy a new router in India will Vonage be able to assist me in programming it in India. I talked to a rep about this and he said this would not be possible, but based on this forum I am assuming that he did not know what he was talking about.

So there it is please help me out if you can find the time. I am still being patient with the service, because I bought into Vonage as a company. Although I would really just like to take a baseball bat to RT31P2 router, and if I have to buy a new router I will. HaHa.

Robert
