Thanks for the information- my mistake about the 40. That's so much that I'm surprised they even bother with a limit.

The answers you got were pretty much the same, except that Dbarkeep forgot to divide by 8. Xcrunxc corrected it. You'll use around 2.5 GB/month for the voice traffic you've described.

It's true that Vonage customer service can be trying at times, but most of us don't need CS all that much. If the service works well for you, then it provides great savings, and it's relatively hassle free for most people. I would certainly run the forum Voip test and a comparison test at www.testyourvoip.com using your internet service before making a commitment. Voip is utterly dependent on a good internet service, and neither Vonage nor anyone else can change that. One strategy is to sign up for a one month trial without porting your existing number (assuming that's something you eventually want to do). See how it goes.
