Vonage Since i chatted with you yesterday i contacted vonage about why they never advised

Since i chatted with you yesterday i contacted Vonage about why they never advised me that i would need the VT 2442.They agreed to replace my VTA for the VT 2442 for 10 pounds.I recieved the email re that this morningand replied that i would do that.That was that you would think?But no about an hour later there was a knock at the door and i signed for a parcel containing a Guru ADSL Modem/Router,which i never ordered and nor can i find it in Vonages list of devices in their signup page.I am still waiting for a reply from Vonage to see if they sent it.In the meantime never look a gift horse etc-i followed the setup for the Guru and found a problem straight away.It wanted me to connect it through a micro filter to a bt phone socket.I am a Telewest customer with a USB cable modem that connects to the web via a Coaxial cable.But i tried .First i connected my phone to the vta box and the blue ethernet cable to the VTA and to the Guru Modem.I connected the Guru USB lead to my pc.And connected the ethernet cable that came with the Guru to my telewest cable modem and to the on borad lan of my pc.Then i went to 192.168.1.1 to put it my isp and password.followed to the letter every instruction there.saved it restarted the moem entered my username and password and got told error bad user name or password.But i was online i could go anywere on the web.The VTA phone light was out and the ADSL and PPP on the Guru were out.
Anyone got a rope and a chair.
