Vonage Similar experience here. Over the past (almost) one year, when service worked,

Similar experience here. Over the past (almost) one year, when service worked, it worked pretty well and subjectively speaking, at one time we were probably 90-95% satisfied. But that is beginning to erode. Somewhere around July, we started to notice a significant increase in miscellaneous problems which are beginning to shake our faith in the service. Increasingly, we've had to rely more on the cell phone, and it's become somewhat "normal" to have at least 2-3 calls per week roll to the network availability number for no apparent reason.

Our inbound callers have been plagued with "all circuits are busy" messages since late March. After approx. 2 dozen emails with tier 3 support citing specific dates/times/call_from/call_to information, they think they've found the issue (with XO). Let's hope so.

We've also seen an increasing number of rings-forever-no-answer problems when calling outbound. (when we know the receiving party, such as our neighbor across the street, is home and not on the phone)

I've noticed that an increasing number of inbound calls are listed as "Wireless Caller", even when the caller is on a POTS line. Our non-Vonage lines (our POTS and my cell phone) list the callerID correctly, so the issue appears to be unique to Vonage. We also have just started seeing callers listed as "Error" even though the call comes through fine.... also started in mid-July.

We've been experiencing substantially more clicks, pops, and echoes in the past few weeks. TestMyVoIP.com shows our QoS at 98-99% consistently. Long-term PingPlotter tests (current test has been running for 33 days) show consistently low latency and virtually non-existent packet loss. Also, callers have complained that when they dial our number, they intermittently get a squealing tone similar to a modem/fax, but not exactly. Several of them have our number on speed dial, so we know it was not a mis-dial.

We've gotten several ring-once-to-vonage-line then roll-to-network-availability-number calls within the past few days. PingPlotter (polling every 10 seconds) shows 0% packet loss and very low latency every time this has happened.

3 hours? Wow......

I like the idea of Voip and will stick with it (for now), because I've always been somewhat of an early adopter of technology. But I must say, living with Vonage as our primary service has turned the telephone from "it always works, no matter what" (even thru 4 hurricanes last year) to something that's actually a little less reliable than my cell phone. (gasp!)
