Same here. I've spent 2 weeks fooling with external modems (56K Courier and 36.6 sportster). The external modems can actually pick up and start a connection, but they never complete the handshake (which I attribute a problem with the Hughes DirecTV Tivo, not the modems). The modem didn't start working until I called a Vonage Tech (which takes no less than 45min each time I try) and they changed something and had me enter the upgrade code into the unit. Now.. I think the second port is dying/dead on the Linksys unit. I'm not so sure that's a bad thing as I'm sick of fighting this. The Vonage VoIP unit needs to broadcast a stronger signal for devices that are expecting alot more (Tivo for one...). *sigh*
