Vonage Recently had a tech problem, caused by Time Warner. I thought it was my RT31P2.

Recently had a tech problem, caused by Time Warner. I thought it was my RT31P2.
EVERYONE I talked to at Vonage told me it was out of warranty, and that I need to buy a new router; they would not swap it out.
Since the router is 2+ years old, do I HAVE to return an old, non-supported, Vonage-specific router if I quit Vonage?
