Vonage Putting the good, robust router first means that you don't have to rely on the Vonage

Putting the good, robust router first means that you don't have to rely on the Vonage box for throughput. The router designed for that takes care of it. It does mean that the main router needs to have QoS set up to favor the Vonage box, so that you avoid choppy calls when you're both downloading and phoning.

The RT31P2 will serve you fine doing nothing but phone adapter duty, so there's no need to replace it. However, if you do decide to hang a computer on its LAN side (not really recommended if you can avoid it), be sure that the LAN sub-net addressing on the RT31P2 and the main router are set to different ranges.

What are the advantages of putting the wireless router first? Does that mean you
Steve48 may be able to give the technical reason, because I don't know, but that's
