-Delivered on the 20th of Jan 07.
-I think they updated the firmware to the latest in the subsequent days as I would get the same problem i.e. trying to add a port to 'Advanced' -> 'virtual server' would come up with a blank screen.
-After a couple of calls to tech support the firmware was switched back to the one above and I was able to get to the add port screen just that once the ports were added to the 'applied rules' list on the right they would magically disappear. Don't know what would do it but they would be gone. Mind you when the ports were on the right side port forwarding did work for Bittorrent azureus.

to fix prob what seems to have worked for all of today and two restarts....

- static ip address for laptop 192.168.15.x subnet mask 255.255.225.0 gateway 192.168.15.1
- In the routers 'home' -> 'dhcp' at the bottom is a list of 'lan clients' I checked 'reserve' next to 192.168.15.x and hit appied and it moved to the 'Static Addresses' list
- go to routers 'advanced' -> 'virtual server' and now that you can add ports with the old firmware create your 'rules' and remember to shift the to the 'applied rules' section on the right and hit apply. This site may help http://portforward.com/ ahh!! and check that at the top of this page the correct IP address was selected 192.168.15.2 in the drop down.

right does someone know how to use the 'Custom Port Forwarding' section on the 'virtual server' page. help would be appreciated, maybe that turns into a better work around???

Would placing our computers in DMZ (demilitarized zone) keep it within WEP? I placed the computer in DMZ before this method and that used to do the trick. How does MAC filtering work on this thing in case WEP does not work?

I think that seems to have done the trick for the moment. My router doesn't ever hang but this has been pretty annoying. The VWR is truly a rubbish router it lacks a lot of function and is too buggy to be released. I would send it back only that I have been sent in instead of the wired Motorola VT2442 for free and this would have been £30 extra and i've got my (rubbish but better) belkin 54g wireless tucked away as backup for now. If this really acts up!

there is a work around on the last page i think but not tested by me because I Don't have sky here. Mind you there are not many complaints after the date of the post.
