Vonage Phone works and so does the internet wooohoooooo. i believe there wasn't any

Phone works and so does the internet wooohoooooo.
i believe there wasn't any problem with the settings or the adapter or anything.
daybefore yesterday i never had the Vonage adapter connected for more than 45 mins with my computer also connected, since internet was not working(which i use extensively) when Vonage was connected.
once i was done with the call(a 45 min call) i unplugged Vonage and connected my computer back to the modem and was using the internet.
but yesterday i left the left the Vonage connection according to the installation over night and when i woke up this morning both seems to be working, have no idea why.usually it takes some time for the computer to resolve the Ip if the modem is unplugged and plugged in again but thats not more than 10 mins. daybefore yesterday i had the connection for 45 mins and still internet wasn't working.
anyhow it works now.

have few questions though.
when i get my ipconfig usually it would display the ethernet adapter and the chartepipeline and the Ip.
but now the IP is 192.168.101.1 and i don't see charter name coming up.
is this ok ?
do i have static IP now ?

can you suggest me any good cordless phone.
and also when making international calls, for first few seconds i hear an echo , i know this is explained in the manual, i don't have it with me right now. i'm just curious to know what the problem could be.
