I have had the same problems and Vonage tech support was unable to remedy my problem as well. They suggested the same fix, which I went out and bought all new phones for my house and rewired all of the existing inside phone wiring with new Cat 5e to every phone jack-problem still existed.

I had two phone lines with Vonage-Line 1 and Line 2 for example. The calls being dropped would always occur on Line 2 and not on Line 1. I no longer needed Line 1 after finding out that my existing number would not be able to be transferred to it, so I called up Vonage to cancel Line 1 and keep my Line 2. They told me that an engineer would have to do this since cancelling Line 1 was my primary number on my account. Long story short...they cancelled my Line 1 and made Line 2 the Line 1 on the phone adapter.

I had a problem with voicemail on my account all of a sudden-I would get a studder tone all of the time even though I had no voicemail-I don't even use the Vonage voicemail. They had to reset my voicemail account and that fixed the studder tone. While trying to troubleshoot the voicemail problem, they had me do a factory reset on my phone adapter (Linksys RTP300). After all of this was fixed with the voicemail and the lines being switched, I noticed that my phone adapter was no longer dropping calls!

So, I believe that it must have been a setting somewhere in the phone adapter-either in the SIP settings or on the port that needed a good old-fashioned factory reset to fix.

Good luck troubleshooting your problem. It took me about 6 months to get it resolved :-
