Vonage Ok, kids, time for me to complain. I bought a PAP2 from Radio Shack, plugged

Ok, kids, time for me to complain.

I bought a PAP2 from Radio Shack, plugged it into my Belkin Router, called Vonage, had my service switched on, and everything has been wonderful. The customer support on a certain chain of islands and archipelagos with whom I have often been connected is less that comprehensible as times in the verbal communication department. The legacy of British and American imperialism has been cheap, overseas customer support.

The thing that bothers me, is that Vonage does not seem responsive to some of the suggestions of people on this list. It seems as if they have enough phone features, and so they do not want to implement anything new. Why can't we have ACR/Anonymous Call rejection? Why can't my name in addition to my number get sent out for the receiving party's caller ID when I make a call? Yes, I like SimulRing(TM), but I want more cool tekno stuff to play with and set and control.

On a serious note, I think Vonage is making a terrible mistake selling only Router if you order your device online. The PAP2 is really the ideal Vonage device. Many people already have routers. My gf got her device online, connected it to her existing router some how, and her service was awful. She returned the router to Vonage and got a retail PAP2, and now her life is Vonage-terrific, and we talk often clearly.

A router is harder to disconnect and stuff in your computer bag and take to a new location. If I want to visit my parents for a few days, I just take the small PAP2 with me and connect it to my father's router. If I had the combined router device, it would be a mess to temporarily go to a new location. Vonage should offer the PAP2 or some similar adapter only device online.

The PAP2 device is also easier for most people to use since if they already have their router connected, there will be less customer service and tech calls for the combined device.

My suggestion is is for Vonage to offer the PAP2 online again.

The other solution, of course, is for them to get their hand held WiFi phone device out already. That way, I could just bring it to my folks or other places I regularly visit.

Vonage! Listen to my sage advice. Hire me as a marketing evangelist, or at least, give us ACR and PAP2s online.
