Vonage Ok. Last night I tried to punch down a cat-5 cable to the input of the punch down block

Ok. Last night I tried to punch down a cat-5 cable to the input of the punch down block then cap the other end with an rj-11, but to no avail, so guess what? More questions :(

The input block is setup as follows:

Blue White
Blue
Orange White
Orange
Green White
Green
Brown White
Brown

What I took from the guidance on this topic is to punch down one end of a cat 5 matching the wires to the punchdown block color code (given above). So now I can connect an rj-11 and an rj-45 connect to the other end right?

I bought some rj-11 4 pin connectors last night and had no idea which pins or in what order the blue pair should be connected to it.

Also, because I have no experience with this type of punch down block, in order to get the internet working I pulled the wires off the output blocks and capped the orange and green pairs with an rj-45 for each block. Then I plugged each rj-45 into a switch which was uplinked to the router. The order which the cables were capped were as follows:

Green White
Green
Orange
empty
empty
Orange White
empty
empty

This setup worked but it was ugly and required the use of a switch on top of already using the router. So following the theory that the input cable can carry both data and voice signals I removed the rj-45s and punched the wires back into the punch panel.

My question now is how should the wiring be configured that is going into the ethernet port on the router? I tried the above wire/pin configuration but it did not work.

Any idea how to cap the input cable with rj-45 so that it can share the internet connection as well as the Vonage connection?

Ultimately what should the capped end of the input cable going to the punch down block look like?

Been 3 weeks since I ordered Vonage and still have yet to get it successfully set up :(

So am I right about splicing one end of a rj-11 and punching it down to the input block

So punch down all 4 pairs of a cat 5 to the input block then cap the end of the cat-5
yeah, or you can just strip out the blue pair of the cat5 and just punch that down,
Suwheet... I will give it a shot. Thanks for the help.
So if there were 2 pcs on 2 different ports on the house they could not contact the
First, the way you had your data connections set up originally was correct. Although
