Ok. I'm close to giving up.

I'm a PacBell DSL user. WAN. Static IP. Installed the motorola box between my dsl modem and my dlink router. Went with default. No dice.

So I connected direclty to the MTA and set it up with my static IP info.

That got me somewhere, but the box was either constantly flashing (4 blinks) or if I had a steady light (and therefore service), the internet connection coming out of the router was shot. I'm guessing IP conflict?

So I figured I'd change the MTA back to dynamic IP and see if (a) that worked and (b) it'd solve the issue. Problem is, now when I jack straight into the MTA (pc port), and type in 192.168.l102.1, I can no longer connect to it (just get a 404).

IP issue? Box fried?

I spent an hour on the phone with tech support tonight trying various things when the line went dead (other end... guess they're using Vonage?).... couldn't bring myself ot call back and start over from scratch.

Really frustrated and hoping someone will have had a similiar experience and be able to offer up help...
