Vonage OK, this one is a no brainer. There are two ways you can go here, simple or better.

OK, this one is a no brainer. There are two ways you can go here, simple or better. ;)

First, I'd still recommend the RTP300. It's a good Vonage device. But you can go for whatever is free after rebates, or whichever one you prefer. ;)

Since you already have everything set up, pretty much, if you are happy leaving the ATA there then there's no need to change it.

Plug your new Vonage device into one of the LAN ports of your WRT54G, power it up, and call it a love story. You should be good to go.

Now, an alternative, since the WRT54G is a decent router. The only thing this depends on is the ATA being able to get through the router - I know little about the ATA units so I don't know, but it's worth a shot.

1. Cable Modem -> WAN/Internet port on WRT54G.
2. WRT54G LAN Port -> ATA
3. WRT54G LAN Port -> new Vonage device (whatever you choose)
4. WRT54G Wireless or other LAN ports -> Computer(s)

I *think*, but I don't *know*, that the ATA should do just find behind your WRT54G router. You can experiment with this right now (and prepare for your new Vonage device) by doing the following:

1. Unplug the power from the ATA, WRT54G, and Cable Modem.
2. Connect the Ethernet port from the Cable Modem to the WAN/Internet port of the WRT54G. Don't unplug your printer or PC from the WRT54G.
3. Power up the Cable Modem, wait for the lights to stop blinking, and power up the WRT54G. Test to make sure the WRT54G works by surfing the web on one of your computers that was already attached to it.
4. Plug the ATA's WAN into LAN3 on the WRT54G and power it up. Test to make sure it works. Leave the ATA's "PC" port empty.

If that all works, then when the new device arrives you just need to plug its WAN/Internet port into the last remaining LAN port in your WRT54G and power it up.

Cable Modem -> (WAN port) WRT54G (LAN Ports) -> ( LAN1:PC, LAN2:Printer, LAN3:ATA, LAN4:NEW_VONAGE )

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if you need diagrams. I'm good at diagrams. ;)
