Vonage OK, my problem isn't the same as many of these other rebate complaints. I fell for
OK, my problem isn't the same as many of these other rebate complaints. I fell for what I can only think was a trap.
I bought the adapter - the rebate was part of my decision. I planned to send everything in ASAP. I noted that I had to sign up fast to qualify, since two of the rebates had to be within 60 days, AND had to include the first month's bill.
After I got the bill, I went through the rebate forms. THEN I noticed that the third rebate form, from Vonage, had to be sent in within 30 days.
So, one form had to be within the 30 days, and two others could not.
First, they waited a long time (didn't check, but prob'ly after the 90 day qualification period), and then they told me that I had missed the deadline. Not only had I realized that (but only as I was filling it out), I even put in a letter acknowledging that.
I called up to see if anything could be done, and reached a rude rep, who simply told me that the deadline was final, and then hung up on me.
So, instead of a happy customer, they now have one who will be sure to pass on a sour experience.
Besides this, I have been having connection issues, but was willing to put up with that (although reluctantly). But with this rudeness and what I consider a rebate trap, I am now ready to start looking for alternatives.

• call up customer care, get loud, put a little bass in your voice, drop a few F bombs
