OK. First off let me explain that I am network newbie (still have to cord attached :wink: ). I have searched the forums (and the web in general) and found other examples but nothing seems to be working correctly. Right now I am just trying to get one of the RT31P2 Phone Adapters to work (will work on the second one later). I had the connection setup the way the instruction manual says but that didn't work. I followed some examples in here and have it somewhat working (internet works but no phone service). Also, the computer that is on the RT31P2 network can not see the computers that are on the BEFSR81 network. I really need to have all of the computers so that they can see each other. Is this possible?

As I said, I'm a network newbie and am not sure what 3/4's of the jargon means. I got a diagram (very rough, of course) that shows what I eventually want the network to look like. It's going to have 2 phone adapters (both Linksys RT31P2). PA #1 will have one phone number plus a separate fax #. PA #2 (which will be a second Vonage account), will have a second phone # and a second fax #. Anyway, here is the layout (if I'm allowed to post images):

Right now I'm only working with one phone adapter (call it PA 1). It is on my desk along with the cable modem and the BEFSR81 Router. So, you have:

Internet -> Cable Modem -> Linksys Router (BEFSR81) and right now the whole network is working (all the computers have access). One of the Cat5 cables goes from one of the LAN ports on the BEFSR81 To the "Internet" port on the RT31P2. There is one computer connected to "Ethernet 1" and one phone connected to Phone 1 on the RT31P2. The computer (which is what I'm on now) has Internet access, but the phone does not work.

When you pick up the receiver, you get a quick busy signal, then a dialtone. When you dial, it immediately goes to busy (no ring). If you dial the phone number which is supposed to work for this phone adapter, you immediately go to voicemail (the phone doesn't ring). Also, the Phone 1 light on the front of the RT31P2 is not lit.

I'm not sure what I should post (in terms of settings) but I'll post whatever I think might be relevant and if anyone needs more information, please ask. I've got 3 browser windows open (one for the admin page of the BEFSR81, one for the admin page of the RT31P2, and one for this window). Here are the settings:

OK. That's everything I can think of that might be of importance. I'm not even sure if I'll be allow to post all of that because of the length of the post (I'm keeping my fingers crossed).

Like I said, the internet is working. But the two problems I'm have right now are that the phone service is not working and this computer (behind the Linksys RT31P2) can not see the other computers on the network behind the Linksys BEFSR81.

Any idea's? Any and all help is greatly appreciated and thanks for any assistance you can give me.
