Not really. While it could be the modem and it can't hurt to swap it out if it is no cost to you, if this is only happening when there is streaming audio being sent from the WRTP54G, the issue is probably with the WRTP54G itself.

If it comes down to that, if it is within your budget, pick up a WRT54GL from your local electronics store like BestBuy. Connect it to your modem and run everything through it. Then disable the wireless function on the WRTP54G and connect it to the WRT54GL so that it is only being used as a telephone adapter. This way, if it is the problem, your internet will stay rock solid and you can have Vonage replace your WRTP54G with a V-Portal.

I'm typing this through a newly installed Linksys WRT54G with the latest firmware V1.02.5 . So far so good with the internet.. One thing I am a little unsure of is how to configure the Vonage Phone Router WRTP54G just as a phone adpater and have it plug into the WRT54G ? I have disabled the wireless and set the adapter to a different IP address than the WRT54G (within the same subnet) and have the Vonage Phone Router WRTP54G obtain its IP address automatically.. I have the internet port of the Vonage Phone Router WRTP54G plugged into a LAN port of the WRT54G.. But i can't ping the WRT54G Vonage Phone Router.. Not sure if I should configure the Vonage Phone Router to use a STATIC IP address or PPoE? Or if i should leave it on automatic configuration.. Tried static and auto and neither seem to work.... Unfortunately the original problem does seem to stem from the Vonage Phone Router because since installing the WRT54G and having a constant ping running, it's not so much as had one hiccup.....
