Not necessarily true. when I did it that way and disconnected the router, 192.168.15.2 was already assigned a lease and the Vonage device assigned 192.168.15.3 to the router. DMZ will work, as you have port filtering on your router (not opening up your network to attack). I highly advise against setting DMZ on both devices, as your network would be at risk.
