My situation does not apply to you. I am hosting my own websites behind my Vonage device. Your setup is much simplier.
Your description is somewhat lacking but your problems are that you have (2) routers with firewalls on your network.
Your Vonage device and your wireless router both have built in firewalls that are meant to protect your computers from others on the Internet. One of these firewalls is between your wireless and wired computers.
The easy fix is to plug your desktop computer into the wired port of your wireless router instead of into your Vonage device. This will put them on the same IP subnet and allow them to talk freely to each other.
If for some reason this is not possible, you need to either enable NetBIOS on your wireless router's firewall or put it into bridge mode which disables the firewall completely. Check the documentation or website from the manufacturer for details on this.
The control panel networking applet on your laptop says a cable is unplugged because you are not using the wired port on your laptop. Check your wireless utility on the taskbar for connectivity to your wireless network.
Good Luck with your setup. Once you get it working, be sure to encrpyt your wireless router and laptop using WPA or WEP if WPA is not available. Otherwise, you will be sharing your Internet connection and computer files with your neighbors!
