My Vonage SimulRing feature seems to be not working as it did before for 6 years.

Recently, I found that the two features, Call Forwarding [/u]AND[u] SimulRing have been combined where as before these two features we separate. In other words the customer signed up for one or the other; they were distinctly different services.

In CALL FORWARDING, Vonage would pass off the call to the phone number the call was forwarded to. Then the forwarded to phone system would handle the call.

In SIMUL-RING, the Vonage call is handled by Vonage to completion.

The problems I seem to have discovered, is the now Vonage requires the customer to sign up for BOTH services where as before the customer signed up for either / or. Or both, if the customer wanted that.

Under my scenario, I wanted only SIMUL-RING.
I would have the call simultaneously ring my TracFone and if I wanted to answer it I would. If I chose NOT to answer the call, under SIMUL-Ring, Vonage would handle the call and send it to Vonage answering service.
This would give me the reliance that I could get all my messages on my Vonage answering service when I got home later. Under this scenario I can use my TracFone as a kind of "pager". I can know who is trying to contact me and if I wanted to answer the call, I would. But if I wanted it to go to Vonage voicemail, it would.

But this has all changed recently.
Vonage now requires the customer to sign up for both features. Under this scenario, with CALL FORWARDING, Vonage PASSES OFF the call to my TracFone. If I decided not to answer it, I would lose the call and Vonage would not record the call in Vonage Answering service, because Vonage had passed off the call to the receiving telephone service. I do not have my answering service set up on my TracFone nor do I want to. I want all my unanswered calls to be handled by Vonage. What the caller hears next from my TracFone is that the customer has not setup their voicemail inbox and that is a problem for me.

Under SIMUL-Ring, you can have up to 5 other devices simultaneously ring. And if any of these devices have an answering service attached to it, then my messages could be on any one of 5 phone services.... YUK.

I have written to Vonage abaut this, but their LAME customer service department merely redirects me to their online FAQ's. WTF ? I have not received any answers from Vonage regarding this problem.

I have been a satisfied customer for 6 years and this is the only time I have been troubled with their service.

This is very troubling for me as it cripples the way I like to use my Vonage service.

Since Vonage pretends NOT to understand my complaint, I have decided to try and go public with my complaint on this forum.

If you, Vonage, are reading this, please take my message to heart and tend to this problem.... I cannot believe I am the only one with this problem.....
