Issue: After 2 years on Vonage with no problems with this set-up, here is my issue:

Can receive calls from all relatives no problem.
Can call most out-of-area numbers without incident, and good voice quality.

When calling local numbers (two different area codes within my local geographical area (803&704) I receive dial tone, dial my number, then I hear nothing (no ringing etc.). On the other end (used my cell to test), the phone rings, but when you pick up there is no voice on either end. So essentially, anyone I call locally thinks they are being crank-called if I call them several times trying to make a connection. Only about half of these calls make it to my activity log, so I'm guessing that half of them never ring.
