The indicator that the network plug is not connected could be triggered by a number of things. Most obviously if you don't have a physical plug but it also can happen if for some reason your modem or in this case, your rtp300, your router loses it's internet connectivity. So it doesn't always indicate a physcial disconnect.

There a number of Vonage devices people seem to recommend around here. The most common one appears to be the latest PAP2 device but this one is not a router so it has no connections for computers. You will need to purchase a new router to make it work since it is only the telephone adapter. I use the rt31p2 and it has been fine for me and it is both a router and a phone adapter much like your rtp300. I believe you can purchase these at Best Buy. Don't get the dlink vwr. I have read a number of posts that clearly shows that it has a great deal of bugs yet to be sorted out.

Yes, you can purchase a lot of these routers and phone adapters at these stores.

I believe that Vonage will only replace a router if they and the key word is they determine that it is broken and that it is under warranty. I believe it is under warranty for only a short amount of time. I recommend that you double check with Vonage directly.
