Let me get this straight...
You have your Router plugged in to the ethernet port on the Motorola CM and the PC plugged into the USB port of the same??
That's a big problem as you can only use one of those ports on the CM at a time The 5120 is a modem only not a modem/Router. The cable modem is only set up to recognize one MAC address from one of those ports at a time hence you may only use the USB OR ethernet port not both at once.
USB connections to your Cable Modem are not the greatest!
If the PC has an ethernet port I would use the second ethernet cable in the package to connect the PC to a hardwire port on the back of the WRTP54G router which is in turn connected to the 5120 modem with the first ethernet cable plugged between it's WAN port and the modem. If the PC has no ethernet card (or on-board ethernet) then I would purchase an inexpensive ethernet card and install it to the PC and make those connections.
The PC (on USB) is stealing the connection rights to the modem and the Router cannot make a connection to the modem.
I have this same set-up and it works great!
