LOL - I have an Trixbox running in the same network as my Vonage router (it sits behind my D-link one from Verizon). All those VoIP ports that are supposed to be opened to my Linksys router for Vonage are all set to go to the Trixbox so I can use that for all my calls. The only time I have problems is when Vonage has genuine issues and they are normally confirmed with the dozens of others that post their issues here on this Forum site. Unfortunately that's becoming more of the norm lately - so that's why I'm looking to leave Vonage FINALLY. So anyone care to explain how the cheap D-link 614 router I have for my FIOS (which features lack big time) is able to not only work with Vonage without opening the ports to the Vonage router but rather they are going to my Trixbox instead? Just curious that if Von_db has been doing this for "months" that someone over there hasn't taken the time to compile a list with specific models of routers and or configurations that require port forwarding. It's not that hard a thing to do - after all you DO have a 2.2M customer base that have issues at some points. Asking them their configuration would make sense to help troubleshoot. I'm skeptical when someone says - "it will help". Either your router works right with Vonage or it doesn't. It doesn't have it's good and bad days depending on how it feels like routing traffic or not (however Vonage seems to have PMS every so often). Another tack on the wall of shame for Vonage for not doing simple testing with various router & modem models to help ensure customer retention. Networking isn't holistic medicine - do yourself and your company a favor and don't make such general statements without something to back it up. And to tout 2.2m customers... lets hope Verizon doesn't make them all go away ... what's the stock at again? Reminds me of the monkeys dancing in that career builder commercial where they turned the graph on it's side to make profits look like they are going up.
