Just so you know Dlink isn't really lying to you. The Vonage firmware is based on Dlink's, but has all of the Vonage specific stuff added to it. Dlink would not be able to give you an updated version of firmware because it would not have any of the Vonage specific code in order for it to act as your VOIP device. Not that they really explained this to you, but it is true. Vonage is the only one you can get a firmware update from. Many people have noted this issue in this forum, so if you do get a firmware update via email in the future it would help many people here if you posted it so that people knew they could call support to get the update.
