Jeff,

I few things to ponder that people often mention on this forum when talking about call quality.

1. Call quality is very related to the quality of your ISP. If you have a good reliable connection then you have a good starting point. If you don't then using any Voip service will be problematic.

2. Call quality is also related to QoS based on the home that it is used in. For users that use a good bit of upstream bandwidth (torrents, FTP, etc.) it is important to have a good router with QoS rules to give Voip the highest priority so that call quality will not suffer.

3. If you are concerned about service outages get a good sized UPS for your network hardware. If you connect your modem, router, Voip device and any other network equipment to the UPS you will get several hours of service even if you don't have power. (this of course is only helpful if you continue to get internet during the outage) Oh yeah, don't forget about your phone too if it needs power to work.

These things aside your numbers look good, but one side comment. If you are really paying for 5MB download speed and are consistently getting less than 2MB you might have something to complain about with your ISP.

I don't know how Bell Canada works pricing, but I am in Bell South land in the US and the prices for service are based on the speed you ask for. The price difference between 5MB DL and 2MB DL are significant ($20 a month I think). For example I can't get their highest package because I'm too far from the Central Office. This really isn't related to your Voip questions, but I wanted to throw it out there.
