Ive been using the Vonage for over a year now and the linksys routers they give with nothing but hassles here in NY. I currently have the RT with the 1.27 firmware. My problem, which is a router issue, is that I must constantly click website links 2 or 3 times for a website load. Speed tests show 90-95% QOS with high download on the cable modem.

I know for a FACT that the router is faulty. You'll read why below

What Ive done to help the problem (doesnt solve it, but helps) is: I have the RT router into my cable modem. From the router I do not connect to any of my PC's. I connected an 8 port hub (office connect brand) into port1 of the router. I then connect my PC's to the hub. The router is able to detect the Pc's through the hub and overall the problems "appear" to be less. If I go directly into the router Im lucky if website load at all.

Back to why I know these routers suck: Prior to the RT router I had 1 PC acting as the "Internet Sharing" machine. It connected directly to my cable modem and I had another network card in that same PC that ran into an 8 port hub. I had my Vonage modem going into that 8 port hub as well as my other PC's. With that computer acting as my router (the Vonage router was never used except for the phone service) I had AMAZING speeds and never an issue. Unfortunately that machines hard drive failed and I never repaired it. I was forced to use the Vonage router.

Im going to try to buy a better brand router and connect the Vonage linksys into that and not use the Linksys RT router at all except for voice.

As for the Linksys resetting - Some cable modem companies have little spikes that last a microsecond. These spikes are due to outdated and poor cable lines in the area. I dont know if a surge protector will solve this problem but, the spikes do cause the modem to reset because it cant hold onto the IP address. I had that problem in the past and the cable company was at fault, no the modem. And if you connected the cable modem direct to a PC you wouldnt have that problem because the PC network card holds its IP differently. I only know from experience but like I said, once they fixed the poor cable wires my RT router never reset itself again.
