It's actually illegal to transmit a caller ID that's not returnable to the original caller. Try returning a call with this "handy feature" of an extra zero tacked on and you'll be dialling an international number. ALL my calls to mobiles, diverted or not, have this extra zero added, and if anybody tries to reply they get a fax machine in Sao Tome. They also get charged for an international call as the call is actually terminating somewhere.

As another poster has noted, Vonage have refused to do anything about it, stating that all the mobile companies in the UK are at fault rather than them.
