It has been announced that Verizon is suing Cox for ingfringement on 8 patents, 4 of which are the same as they sued and won when they sued Vonage. Anyone that had followed the Vonage case, found that the primary imfringement was telephone number to IP translation, akin to looking up someone's name in the phone book and coming up wth a phone number. Whats more, there appeared to be "prior art" for this, though the courts did not see any concrete evidence . . . while the rest of the VOIP community was aware of working groups and prior art previous to Verizon's patent (see http://techdirt.com/articles/20070417/005814.shtml).
