It doesn't look like Vonage is gonna cancel the account automagically like they said they would, so I called up to cancel and they didn't offer anything out of the ordinary. They asked the usual questions, why are you doing it, would you like another number, sign up for the 1 year pre-paid special, am I really sure I want to do it. So... yes, it's possible to port the Vonage assigned number away from Vonage without much trouble.

• Years ago I read somewhere that it was impossible to transfer a vonage-given number
• Nice to cooperate with you. I might call any time.
• I just did it (ported Vonage assigned number to T-mobile) and no problems so far!
• Make sure you get Vonage tech to submit a level 3 ticket to "REMOVE DID FROM DATABASE"
