Vonage Is the ready LED on the front of the IP-8100 base unit solid green or is it flashing

Is the ready LED on the front of the IP-8100 base unit solid green or is it flashing amber?

Green means it is properly communicating with Vonage proxy servers. If amber, then it is an IP issue with the base unit not communicating with Vonage. Have to possibly power cycle everything starting with your modem, router, IP-8100.

If the LED is green, when the battery on the handset died, it may have de-registered from the base unit. You will need to attempt to re-register it.

Here's the link to the user manual if you no longer have yours.

Here's how to re-register the handset with the base unit.

To de-register handsets from the VTech IP8100 Base Unit

1. Power on base unit.
2. Press and hold PAGE button on base unit and turn on power while you have PAGE button pressed.
3. All handsets registered to this Base Unit should prompt for a Base ID.
4. The Base Unit will now not have any handsets associated with it.

Note: Base ID can be found on a sticker on the bottom of base unit.

To register handsets with the VTech IP8100 Base Unit

1. Power on base unit
2. Press and hold SEL on the handset.
3. Enter a new BASE ID once the prompt appears on the handset.
4. Press SEL to save it.

Note: New handsets will prompt for a Base ID after they charge.
