(1) No DSL and have never had DSL on the line. Address is correct. Never been late.

(2) I have only called my carrier once and that was on the recommendation by a Vonage LNP rep. The only thing the Bellsouth rep was able to tell me was that there were no orders on the line. This was after waiting 1 1/2 months already.

(3) Carefully filled out and faxed, witch my actual bill, the LOA to Vonage.

(4) I have not called Focal or any other company yet, but because of Vonage's unwillingness to really investigate any problems I feel that I may have to. All Vonage has done for me so far is send me emails saying " we'll check on it". It reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where the host could "take" the reservation but couldn't "keep" the reservation. So what is the point of even taking it. They say they will "check" on the transfer but what do they actually do? I can "check" my dashboard for an update all day long, I don't need them to tell me that they haven't recieved an update, I need them to tell me "why" they haven't recieved an update.

(5) God, I wish I could get to this step to even have this problem.

(6) I have always been professional and to the point when calling or emailing Vonage. I believe it is Vonage who is not being professional in this area. I have called the Vonage LNP Group phone number serveral times and left messages with them. I have not once recieved a response. Only on my last phone call did I show any contempt for this, and that was because the Vonage rep tried to direct me to the number once again.

"It's unfortunately human nature- Long winded tirads, incomplete information, nasty folks always get the crappiest service. I've ported 2 numbers from Verizon, each took between 20-24 days to complete and went off without a hitch."

I have been as kind and professional as possible with the reps I have spoken with. Sometimes I don't think it matters how nice you are to them if what you need done actually takes time and effort to figure out.
I would consider yourself lucky, not accurate or nice, that your numbers ported without a hitch. Because I've done everything I know of to get my number ported smoothly, including your recommendations, since I ordered Vonage last January 31st but it seems to make no difference at all.
