Vonage Im in PA at 717 area code. My sister-in-law (610 area code) called on our Verizon

Im in PA at 717 area code. My sister-in-law (610 area code) called on our Verizon line and I told my wife "we're trying to test this phone so call her back on the Vonage line". She tried 3 times and only let it ring 6 or 7 times and gave up.

I called another person on 610 area code. It rang about 10 times and then the sound of the ring changed (got louder?), rang 2 more times and they picked up. Told me the phone only rang twice.

This is odd. Others that I've called have had no problem. I'm on hold now with V(out)tage to see what they have to say about it but am beginning to believe I got in too early.

Anybody else ever experience this?
