If your internet connection is crappy, no it will not fix that...If you know you have excessive jitter with your isp you should contact them to correct the issue. If you have a good internet connection and want to use P2P file sharing while conversating, the HBB1 manages your network so that the most time sensitive information receives the highest priority when it comes to available bandwidth.
Sorry about that, I was using the term "your" internet connection generically and not necessarily meaning you. With my previous Vonage device, a WRTP54G, if I was on the phone and uploading files at the same time my call quality was less than desirable. When I added the HBB1, there was no longer an issue with downloading and or uploading files while using my Vonage line. Now that I have the Motorola VT2542, I no longer need the HBB1 because the VT2542 automatically gives voice conversation priority over file sharing. And BTW, I also use Comcast.
