Vonage If you have a short in the wiring, most of the Vonage boxes will indicate an off-hook

If you have a short in the wiring, most of the Vonage boxes will indicate an off-hook condition even though all the phones are on-hook. It's indicated by the phone light flashing. I don't know whether the V-portal has an off-hook indicator. Also, keep in mind that a phone that is bad or is actually off-hook can cause this problem. Start by unplugging everything on the home wiring except for one telephone that you're using to test things.
