If you are looking for the best router, it will be a matter of opinion. I've got a wrt54g and haven't had any disconnects and I connect via wireless. I have set up a DMZ for the IP of the PS3 and this may be the reason. I looked through the PS3 forums and they were pretty much all over the place, everything from Buffalo to Linksys. The one common router I did see was the d-link DIR-655. With any router, I would suggest setting up the DMZ for your PS3 and make sure that UPnP is enabled, if the router has that feature.
As far as Vonage devices, it will depend on which one you upgrade to and how you have your network setup. The v-portal has a lot of configurable settings that will help you out (DMZ, UPnP, and an option to turn the firewall off completely, etc...). You could try to find a Motorola vt2442 at a retailer. This will allow you to upgrade your Vonage device and also gives you a 4 port router. It also has the option to disable the firewall and set up a DMZ. Down side with this device, the DMZ is a little more complicated. You may have to set up a LAN Client for the PS3, if it does not automatically.

BTW, are you just wanting to upgrade from the RTP-300 or is there something wrong with it?
